BRONZE APIS BULL
Holy bull whorshipped in the temple of Ptah in Memphis. Standing on rectangular base, left legs advanced; sundisc with uraeus between his horns, winged scarab engraved on his neck, patterned saddle-cloth on its back, long tail. Hollow cast.
Ex priv. coll. A. v.d. W., Netherlands, before 1970.
L. 9,4 cm. Dark patina, minor cracks and restoration. Mounted on black stand with old inventory label no. 252 at underside.
